After a long time of theme oriented compos, it is time to let go of all those
stupid restrictions for once. We want to hear the best music you can write - without boundaries!
Did we say no restrictions? - Well there are still some rules:

- Deadline is 21.04.2013 23:59:00 (that's a sunday)
- write what you want - but write it good :)
- timelimit: 10 minutes
- only one entry per user
- upload the track before the deadline here on this site
- don't publish your track until voting is over elsewhere
- upload your tune as mp3
- remixes are allowed, but you will get a 1 star vote by rams

You need to move away from the descant sound a bit. I love your composition, leads, instrumentation etc. So for next time, try a bit more powerful sound, even tho this is very beautiful aswell. The middle-easy part is gorgeous. Oh and hai Mystra! :)

Ethnic vibes. Interesting. The percussion sounds in the beginning should be more up-front and clear. Melody manages to get boring before the main part begins. The main part is good. Chord progression could have more variation. This could have been very good with a few changes.

Aargh, I bet this is a remix. I just can't pinpoint the orignal tune in my head right now. Still a nice tune and instruments. However the ancient instrument in the beginning and the end sound a bit out of place compared to the rest of the "sound" of the tune. The planflute works better though.

I was gonna give this song a '10' for the songs perfect sound but then the melody instrument started playing and i regret that i can only give it a '5'. My favourite tune in the compo! But i really wish the melody instrument was a bit less "bösigt" (translated to: something that is not very 'clean/clear').

Instruments and the ambient feeling is what saves this tune. But the melody lacks any logic, harmony or idea to my ears... If you come up with a decent ambient melody, you could apply this instruments and end up with a quite good tune I believe.

My entry, original by DRAX. This was made from scratch using a C64 tracker. Started just for fun, recreating certain sounds from this fine composition and at some point it turned into a remake. I put in a lot of effort trying to get the instruments as 'true' as possible. If you listen to it, the original's sound is still very different, though, softer, more evenly flowing and enigmatic. After rebuilding the song more or less I began adding some changes, however I had little time to try and blend them in organically. In some places they heckle the original melody, which many of you love aswell, more than adding, which tends to happen anyway, when trying to change a song like "Caught in the Middle". It's just so well-rounded, already.

Messy stuff. Funny at times. Too much stuff (everything?) panned dead center, sitting on top of each other. Composer can't decide is this in major or minor?? Some instruments are playing major at the same time as others are play minor chords/scales. If that was done on purpose, it's just ugly.

The bass and the drums are actually quite nice (for the most part) but pretty much everything else feels so extremely random. The punch sounds makes me giggle since they remind me of a tune i made myself when i was just beginning making music, it was worse than this... Oh god... Keep up the practice!
